Pantyhose or Stockings? A Nylon Mistress Explains the Difference
Men arrive telling me they have a nylon fetish, and then discover in the first session that they have something much narrower than that. Almost nobody likes all nylon. They like one specific thing about it and have never had the vocabulary to say which.
More on this: nylon and foot worship on cam.
So here is the vocabulary.
Pantyhose
One continuous piece from toe to waist. Nothing interrupts the line, which is exactly why some men prefer them: the leg reads as a single unbroken surface, sealed and complete.
That completeness is also what makes them the more frustrating garment to a submissive, because there is no gap, no edge, and no point of entry anywhere. For a man whose fetish is really about denial dressed up as texture, pantyhose are the crueller choice, and I am aware of that when I select them.
Stockings
Two separate pieces, held by a suspender belt. They end partway up the thigh, and that ending is the entire point.
A stocking has a top, a welt, a boundary – a visible line where nylon stops. Men who prefer stockings are almost always responding to that boundary rather than to the nylon itself. It suggests a limit, which suggests the possibility of the limit being crossed, which is a suggestion I have no intention of honouring.
Hold-Ups
Stockings without the belt, staying up on a silicone band. Practically superior, aesthetically a compromise, and the one most likely to divide a room of nylon fetishists.
Purists object that the absence of suspenders removes half the ritual. They are not wrong. The suspender belt is architecture you can see, and for a certain kind of submissive the visible mechanics matter more than the material.
Denier: The Number That Actually Matters
Denier measures the thickness of the yarn, and it is the single most useful word a nylon fetishist can learn.
Anything from 5 to 15 denier is sheer – skin reads through it, and the nylon announces itself mainly through sheen. From 20 to 40 you are into semi-opaque, where the leg is noticeably altered but not hidden. Above 40 and certainly above 60, the leg disappears into the colour entirely.
Men who say they love nylon generally mean they love one of those three bands and are indifferent to the others. Working out which band is yours is usually the most useful thing to come out of a first session.
Sheen, Matte and Seams
Gloss is polarising. A high-shine nylon under light is theatrical and unmistakable, and the men who love it tend to love it absolutely. Matte is the opposite: it flatters quietly and reads as expensive rather than deliberate.
Seams are the oldest trick in the drawer and still the most effective. A line drawn up the back of the leg does the work of pointing for me. I do not need to tell a submissive where to look when the stocking has already told him.
Finding Out What You Actually Like
Most men cannot answer this from a chair. They think they can, and then a session shows them something they did not expect about themselves – that it was never the stockings, it was the welt, or never the sheen, it was the sound.
Twenty years in one room is a long time to spend learning to spot which one a man is before he knows it himself.
On your knees where you belong.
Nylon is not an accessory to me. It is the point.
